The latest Call of Duty game.

While I am not the biggest video game player in the world, I do like playing some “Call of Duty: Black ops ll” every once in awhile. Call of Duty is releasing their next big game in November and it might give Battlefield 4 a run for its money. The next installment is called, “Ghosts” and appears to be set in a destroyed future. Watch the trailer and let me know what you think.

New Stone Temple Pilots.

If this headline seems to be a bit confusing don’t worry, it’s OK. Now some of you might be thinking, hmmm, I thought Scott Weiland got fired? He did. However STP made a surprise appearance the other night and had none other than Chester Bennington from Linkin Park as their lead singer.

While I am not sure if Bennington will be taking over permanently, the band released a new song called, “Out of Time“. It’s a pretty good song and it’s nice to hear just straight up rock behind Bennington’s voice. I shared the song on our 93rock page and STP fanatics don’t seem to be too happy. Judge for yourself:

Doing some traveling? Know the lingo.

If you read this blog frequently, you know I am a sucker for youtube videos. This video is both entertaining and educational, especially if you are looking to do some traveling. It is about how other countries view the thumbs up and other hand motions. So if you are looking to travel or study abroad, check out this short video.

New Saliva!

Saliva is back with a great fucking tune! It’s been a few years since Josey Scott left the band to pursue a career as a solo Christian music artist. Bobby Amaru stepped in and I was wondering how the old stuff would sound with him. Well if their new single, “In It to Win It” is any indication, Amaru will be an incredible replacement.

This song packs a ton of energy and heaviness that makes me have faith this band is continuing to go in the right direction. Plus they will be at ROCKUSA which the radio station I DJ for helps put on. So check out the single and let me know what you think.

New Five Finger Death Punch.

Even though this song premiered on The Golden Gods Awards almost two weeks ago, 5FDP’s new song, “Lift Me Up” was just released on the radio which means it takes a little while to find a good version on youtube. Not only is the song completely badass, it features one of the God’s of heavy metal, Mr. Rob Halford of Judas Priest.

Take a listen to the song here:

And here is an article from the band talking about the song and upcoming double albums.

Song of the week 5-13.

So I decided to spend a few hours on youtube last night watching performances of several of my favorite bands. I ended with watching Slipknot’s, Knotfest performance from last summer. The song, “The Blister Exists” came on and it made me remember how much I love that song so I have decided it will be my song of the week.

Also in some big Slipknot news, Shawn “Clown” Crahan said 2014 will be the year of Slipknot! So look for big things from them in the next six to seven months.

More new Skillet!

Skillet will be releasing their first concept album on June 25th and have released another song of their anticipated album Rise which is the follow-up to 2009′s Awake. The song is the self-titled track from the album and will be a huge hit.

I am a lot bigger fan of this song than I was of “Sick of It” and like most Skillet songs has a great meaning behind it. “Rise” once again has drummer Jen Ledger providing vocals and Seth Morrison has proved to be a legit replacement on lead guitar. Take a listen and be prepared for a pretty powerful ending.

Here’s something to make you laugh.

We are eleven days into May and the weather in Wisconsin is pretty shitty. The one nice thing is I haven’t had to turn on the air conditioning so a low electric bill this month! However since most people are probably inside today, I have some funny videos to help you get through this afternoon.

Now I am not a big late night TV guy, but I do enjoy Jimmy Kimmel’s show, so here are four videos of celebrities reading hateful tweets about themselves. Enjoy.

Fight or flight

So while David Draiman is busy with Device and John Moyer is playing bass for a badass metal band in Adrenaline Mob, that left half of Disturbed to sit on their asses right? Well for a little while it maybe seemed that way but then I realized I was foolish and naive to think guitarist Dan Donegan and dummer Mike Wengren wouldn’t do anything.

Donegan and Wengren have teamed up with Evans Blue’s (underrated band) lead singer, Dan Chandler and Ra’s bass player Sean Corcoran and Jeremy Jayson as a second guitarist to form the band Fight or Flight. Their debut album, A Life By Design drops July 23rd and they have released their first song called, “First of the Last“. It’s a pretty good song and I am looking forward to the rest of the album. Take a listen here:

Song of the week 5-5

Today’s first song of the week for the month of May comes from a band I am starting to listen to more. Today I will be sharing Shadows Fall’s song, “Redemption” I need to thank my buddies Zach and Irv, who I do my podcast with for suggesting songs for me to listen to. “Redemption” is one of my favorites so far and was on the Madden 2008 video game. The song list for that game also included, Airbourne, Atreyu and Ozzy among others.
