After overhearing some music chatter talk today at the radio station, one possibility made my ears perk up like a mole in the whack-a-mole game. There is a possibility of a new (cue the drum-roll in your head) Rage Against the Machine album! Here is the quote along with some other Rage info:
The band announced on the 9th of October via their Facebook page that they would be releasing a special 20th anniversary box set to commemorate the group’s debut album. The full box set will contain never-before-released concert material, including the band’s 2010 Finsbury Park show and footage from early in their career, as well as a digitally-remastered version of the album, b-sides and the original demo tape (on disc for the first time). The band will also release 3-disc and single-disc versions. The collection will be released on on the 27th of November.
This is all from Wikipedia so take it for what you will, but I couldn’t really find any more information on the subject.
While it is just a maybe, it is better than a no. Rage has been one of my favorite bands since I was in middle school and if they do come out with new material, it will be their first original music since 1999’s, “The Battle of Los Angeles”. I am hoping there will be some more concrete details in the coming weeks to share but even this maybe is enough to get me excited.
Since there is a possibility of new music, here is one of my favorite Rage songs:
