I am going to post this a bit early since I will be in St. Louis for the Packers game this weekend and won’t have my laptop with me. No I do not have a smart phone either. That might shock a lot of people but some of us in our mid-20’s still don’t have a smart phone. Anyway the Pack are going to be without some key players this week, Nick Perry, B.J. Raji, Sam Shields and Greg Jennings are all ruled out for Sunday. Time for the depth to show up this Sunday against the Rams. Here are some keys for Sunday.
1. Young corners:
- Casey Hayward leads the Packers in interceptions with 3 this season. He has played very well in a smaller role but will be counted on this Sunday to fill in for the injured Sam Shields. Also second year man, Davon House should get on the field for the first time this season. He had a great training camp and hasn’t seen the field since his injury in the first preseason game. Plus if both of these guys play sound football Jarrett Bush won’t see the field except on special teams.
2. Pour on the points:
- The Packers did a great job of this last week, they tasted blood and kept pouring it on. Green Bay did this well in the first half against the Colts but unfortunately fell apart in the second half. The Rams have a good defense but the offense has had trouble putting up points so the Pack needs to get in a groove early.
3. Running game:
- Even though Alex Green averaged three yards a carry last week he does have the potential to break a long gain. With that threat it also allows the Packers to use the play-action they use very well and give Aaron Rodgers the chance to roll outside. If this happens it will make the Rams fast paced defensive line hesitate just enough for the Pack to execute.
