After going through a week without football. Wait…..
There was football last Sunday? Are you sure? Are you 100 percent positive? Oooooooh that’s right, there was the Pro Bowl. (insert snore here)
Well now that we are back to real football, it’s time for me to pick who I believe will come home with the Lombardi trophy tonight. Before we do that, I will admit I didn’t pick either of these teams to be in the Superbowl but I did have both of them making the playoffs. (insert small pat on back to make myself feel better).
The Ravens are on a path the last two Super Bowl Champs have gone on (Giants, Packers). They have the core four healthy on defense and have the defense playing at the highest level they have all season. Joe Flacco is showing why he thinks he is worth a big contract and Anquan Boldin is catching everything in sight.
The 49ers made the right decision by switching to the more dynamic quarterback in Colin Kaepernick who has completely opened up this offense. Frank Gore is making the most of his carries and the defense brings a physicality other teams only with they had. Also receiver Michael Crabtree is proving why he was a top 10 pick a few years ago.
However when it is all said and done Ray Lewis will get his second ring and go out the way of John Elway and Jerome Bettis.
