Cooking is metal.

I love to cook. Yes, you read that right, a guy is admitting he loves to cook. Not only is it a nice thing to do for your wife or girlfriend but now, cooking is metal. My boss Jason from 93rock passed along one of the better youtube videos I have seen in awhile.

Cooking with Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down) is the video and he teaches you how to cook while singing directions to several Pantera songs. It’s a cartoon video and is beyond hilarious. Plus you get to listen to Pantera. How could it get any better than that?

Enjoy! Hope this helps get your week off to a good start!

My girlfriend is currently on the job hunt and staying at home so she takes care of most of the cooking. To be honest, I’m not much of a chef but I hold my own on the grill. Once or twice a week I light it up and prepare some meat, but I’d like to advance my skills. Any suggestions? Local cooking classes? Trial and error? What do you think?

I would say trial and error is your best bet. I did that quite a bit and figured out what spices I liked on certain meats or fish. Our family has our own spaghetti sauce recipe that I have added my own style to.
I would say to keep it simple to start out. I make a chicken and potatoes meal where I just bake chicken, put bbq sauce or a blackened seasoning on it. Then chop up potatoes, drizzle olive oil on them and add garlic powder and parsley. Really simple. Tacos are really easy to prepare.
Take something you really like and try to make different meals out of that is some of the best advice I can give you. I have some buddies who are chefs and that’s a pearl of wisdom they gave me.
