New Seether!

So the guys in Seether are going to be giving us some new music this year. The guys are coming out with a double-disc greatest hits collection on October 29th. The albums will have some of their big hits, as well as a cover and three new songs. Here is one of the new songs called, “Safe To Say I’ve Had Enough.” It’s a pretty melodic start but very powerful once the chorus hits. I like what I am heading on this one.

Song of the week 8-21

Today’s song of the week comes from a pretty young rock band from England. The band is Young Guns and the song I am sharing is their latest single, “Towers“. It is definitely one of the least heavy songs I have shared but these guys are pretty darn good.

Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Song of the week 8-3.

Let me apologize for my lack of posts on the site lately. Working three jobs and moving have gotten the best of me these last few weeks. I need to do an update on my concert experiences here soon when my internet gets set up. (dj’ing right now at work). So to keep you all tided over here is my song of the week.

It is off Five Finger Death Punch’s new CD (GET IT!) “The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell”. It is a cover of LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out“. Now I am not the biggest rap fan in the world, this song is intense and it’s interesting to hear Ivan Moody do some rapping. Plus this song has Tech N9ne who loves rock and metal. Enjoy!

New Avenged Sevenfold.

Avenged Sevenfold has released their first single, “Hail to the King“. It is also the title track for their upcoming album which will be in stores August 27th. The song isn’t an intense, in your face song like “Nightmare” or “Welcome to the Family” were.

Having listened to it a few times, maybe it will be a song that eventually grows on people but it is pretty even paced all the way through.

These guys will be at ROCKUSA in Osh Kosh, WI on Wednesday so I will be seeing them for a second time.

Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Song of the Week 6-28

Today will be the last song of the week for June and it’s a damn good one. Soil has had lead singer Ryan McCombs back for a few years which makes me very happy. I am a lot bigger fan of him in Soil than I was Drowning Pool.

The first album with McCombs return is called Whole and will be released on August 20th. You can hear the song I am going to share called “Shine On” on this album. The song starts pretty calm but after a little while the storm hits. Listen and enjoy!

More new Skillet!

Skillet will be releasing their first concept album on June 25th and have released another song of their anticipated album Rise which is the follow-up to 2009’s Awake. The song is the self-titled track from the album and will be a huge hit.

I am a lot bigger fan of this song than I was of “Sick of It” and like most Skillet songs has a great meaning behind it. “Rise” once again has drummer Jen Ledger providing vocals and Seth Morrison has proved to be a legit replacement on lead guitar. Take a listen and be prepared for a pretty powerful ending.

New Skillet

Today has been one heck of a day in the world of rock and metal. Volbeat, Stone Sour and Device all released new albums. I bought the Stone Sour and Device albums today and so far, Stone Sour’s, House of Gold and Bones Part 2  has not disappointed.

Now to get why I am writing this blog. After waiting for a few years to hear some new Skillet music they finally dropped their first album today titled, “Sick of It“. The song sounds like a combination of their Alien Youth album and some of the harder rock you heard on their last release, Awake. I have only listened to the song once and while it might grow on me the more I listen to it, I am a bit disappointed. Song of the week 2-20

Your song of the week will be coming from a band who I really hope will get back to making music in the near future. This week’s song is “Sugarcoat” by Breaking Benjamin. I had never actually heard this song until the last year or so and it has quickly become one of my favorite tunes from them.

If you did not know, lead singer Benjamin Burnley fired two members of the band
(Mark Klepasky, Aaron Fink?) back in 2011 for remixing the hit “Blow me Away” without his permission. I can’t find much recent info on them so hopefully we will get some new BB soon. Until then, just enjoy this song off their first album!

New GBME episode.

We now have a green screen for Green Bay’s Metal Elite to add some flare to the show. This week we have our usual news section, upcoming shows and discuss our favorite albums we listened to in high school. What are some of your favorite albums from when you were in high school?

Song of the week 12-25

Today’s song of the week comes to you on Christmas day and it would not be complete without a song about the holidays. So today’s song I give you is called “Heat Miser” done by the hard rock Christian band, Thousand Foot Krutch.”  I hope you are all having a great end to your holiday and enjoy this song!
